General Description: Visitor Services Staff (VS) are scheduled to be on duty at Riverfront Museum Park (RMP) during the hours when the building is in use, and/or RMP management office is closed. While on duty, the responsibilities for VS includes greeting and directing visitors, responding to service and security issues and other general questions or concerns as appropriate. VS report directly to the RMP Management Office. The VS communicates all activities / events to RMP Management as part of a shift report. Communication is essential in this position. Use of a computer is necessary.
VS general hours of work are 4:30 pm to 10:00 pm Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm Saturday and Sunday with additional evening hours when events are scheduled. The VS station is located in the loggia. The VS does not leave the grounds for lunch breaks, food runs, etc. unless authorized.
VS requires good customer relations skills. This person is the first impression for Riverfront Museum Park, whether by phone or in person. Friendly and professional tone and actions are vital in this role. VS must also have the ability to handle emergency situations in calm and professional manner.
Other Job Requirements:
Weekend, evening, holiday, and second-shift hours required.
Education and Training:
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Most of the specific training occurs on the job. Use of a computer is necessary so applicant must be skillful in Outlook, Google Calendar and Office. First Aid, CPR and AED training is a plus.
